Dunloy GP – Co. Antrim On Sunday, Joe-Nathan Matar travelled north for the Dunloy GP, taking on a tough 118km circuit. Due to college exams, Joe-Nathan was unable to take part in this year’s Rás Tailteann, but still showed impressive form with a determined ride. Well done to all that raced in the second crit of the Appleby Orwell beginners league tonight! We had 2 exciting races, starting with the B race where the B+ were made to work hard to catch the last two of the B breakaways, after which they stayed together for a bit before fighting it out for the top places. Orwell Wheelers’ Sean O’Kane and Adam McConnell headed south over the Bank Holiday weekend to take on the Kanturk 3-Day, the final stage race before the Rás — and what a weekend it turned out to be! IVCA Carlow
Meanwhile in the IVCA League in Carlow, Harry Rochford continued his storming start to his debut season in the league, taking fifth place in the Blue race. Michael Hickey, another IVCA rookie, took fourth place in the Orange race.
