Well done to all that raced in the second crit of the Appleby Orwell beginners league tonight! We had 2 exciting races, starting with the B race where the B+ were made to work hard to catch the last two of the B breakaways, after which they stayed together for a bit before fighting it out for the top places. Meanwhile in the IVCA League in Carlow, Harry Rochford continued his storming start to his debut season in the league, taking fifth place in the Blue race. The season kicked off last night in Corkagh Park, with youth riders (U8–U16) back in action. We’ll be racing every Monday evening for the next 17 weeks, right through to August 11th. It’s a brilliant intro to bike racing for many young riders, and with clubs travelling from as far as Wexford, Westmeath and Cavan, the standard is always competitive.
