Everesting
Sean O'Kane everested Ballymana lane in 11hr 8min. Any part of Ballymana lane is a tough climb, but doing a 1km section more that 50 times is hard core.

Michael Frain - 1000km Celtic Knot Audax
Audax - Celtic Knot 2025 42hr 04min moving 64hr 38min elapsed I obviously did'nt learn my lesson from last time. I returned, and so did the winds. Brutal at times and then accompanied by biblical rain for the final 100km or so.... And yet all that aside an incredible and unforgettable weekend. Great teamwork within the group (Apologies to them for some of the cranky late night outbursts....😲😄) But most of all a sincere thanks to the organisers and team - Hendrik, Keith, Fin

Easter Flèche - The Wetting of '25
The non-audaxers: the emptiness of their lives is shocking. They move through a world of soft edges and predictable comforts. Their weekends are a vacuum of un-tested limits, a realm where the only burning sensation comes from a few efforts in the Wicklow Hills, in fair weather, with companions for support and Val to mend their punctures. They ride to eat cake, not eat cake to ride. They exist outside the peculiar fraternity of the long road, untouched by the quiet madness of

Orwell 300km Report
Photo Darragh Delaney/Audax Ireland 42 riders signed on at Joe Dalys in Dundrum to ride the Orwell Midlands 300km Audax on Sunday 6th April. It was nippy enough before dawn as they set off. The route is straightforward: Dundrum - Mountrath - Birr - Athlone - Dundrum and must be completed inside a timelimit of 20hrs. There is just one significant climb, the Wolftrap over the Slieve Blooms between Mountrath and Birr. It was a glorious sunny day, but there was a stiff h

Vignettes from PBP 2019
After a nervy start - holding back the adrenalin - we’re in open, undulating roads. Dave roams up and down, placing his troops in formation. “Colin: go over there. Danny: come here … everyone set, ok, now gently accelerate … that's good.” A year of my life given for this moment. Time ceases - the night syncopated only by calls of “up and over!” Glancing back, the mother of all pacelines behind us, white LEDs snaking over the horizon, then back up the previous hill and beyond

Vignettes from PBP
In Villaines, the whole population is in the streets. “Huh, there seems to be a festival going on.” “YOU’re the festival, bozo!” I park the bike and run up the steps to get my card stamped. The crowd cheers and parts in front of me, the brevet card in my hand become the Olympic torch, carried across continents to the controller’s rubber stamp. Thanks to Kashif for these wonderful memories of PBP 2019

Andrew’s PBP
“It was really tough, I have never, ever gotten as close to the physical and mental anguish I endured over the few days. I think we all had our difficult moments and somehow, we all dragged ourselves through them. My emotions shifted from despair to exaltation and I was continually humbled by the support along the way.” The final part of Andrew Potts PBP series is the big one – the story of the event itself and how it unfolded for Andrew. It’s a tale worth reading!
