Savills One-Day Youths Stage Race

Huge thanks to all the youths and parents who made the trip to Corkagh Park today for the Savills Orwell One-Day!

We had 70 riders from all over the country, including several newcomers to Corkagh Park as well as some novice racers. It was a brilliant day of action - fast, fun and incredibly spectator-friendly. With all 9 races visible from the comfort of a deckchair, it couldn’t have been better for those cheering from the sidelines.

The kids had a fantastic time - racing hard, hanging out with friends and watching the action unfold on the circuit. There were also some incredible performances, including standout wins from Helena Lopez (Orwell), Jaxon Jennings (Bear CC), Emma Kelly (Waterford CC), Ava Baker (Breffni Wheelers) and Xander Huele (Orwell), all of whom dominated their age cats, cleaning up in all three races.

The weather was mixed but stayed warm throughout the day. A big thanks to Savills for their generous sponsorship and to Joe Daly’s for the fab prizes - socks, hats and gloves that went down a treat!

Organisers Aideen Keenan and Shane Murphy (and absentee landlord Brian Crinion :) ) want to say a big thanks to all the parent volunteers who rolled up their sleeves and helped make the day run smoothly.

The day went off without a hitch - well, unless you count the AA being called twice for car trouble .....but crucially, no bikes or riders needed rescuing!!
