Victory for Evan Keane at the Sean Lynch Memorial 🏆
Evan Keane continued his remarkable run of form with a superb win in the main event at the Sean Lynch Memorial, hosted by Drogheda Wheelers in Skryne, Co. Meath on Saturday. Just two days after taking top honours at the Sally Gap Interclub League, Evan delivered a commanding performance in a high-calibre field, outsprinting UCD's Jason Kenny in a dramatic photo finish.
With some of the country’s strongest riders in attendance and a rapid circuit to contend with, it was always going to take something special to secure victory. Evan not only contributed significantly to bringing back the early breakaway but also had the strength and race smarts to seal the win in the closing metres—a truly well-deserved result.
In the C2 race, Adam McConnell once again showed solid form with a strong outing, continuing his consistent run this season.
In the C3 event, Orwell Wheelers were well represented with Josh Francis, Paul O’Brien, Jonathan O’Brien, and Matt Lynch all taking to the line. Jonathan narrowly missed out on a top 10 finish after an aggressive and smartly ridden race, while the others gained valuable experience and racing miles as the season heads into its critical final stretch.
A special mention goes to Sean O’Kane, who completed the Everesting Challenge on Saturday—a monumental test of endurance—and to all Orwell members who took part in this year’s Wicklow 200. Well done to all involved!
