Easter is here, the evenings are getting longer and it’s all go in the world of Scott Orwell Wheelers! Remember if there is anything you would like included in The Week Ahead then please email it to pro@orwellwheelers.org

A blue sky, crisp evening in Corkagh Park with only a hint of an Easterly wind saw two great races tonight. Over 20 signed on to race the B Race and 18 for the A Race!

Well for what should have been a relatively quiet week that was interesting!! A snowy Club League kick off, the Waller Cup, IVCA, Youth tour of Scotland and a Junior competing on an Irish Team. This bodes well for a great season ahead…..

Well what a week that was – sun, rain, wind, snow and the start of the Club League! It couldn’t possibly be like that again next week…..or could it? The Youth Tour of Scotland is one of Scottish Cycling’s flagship stage race events and will take place between 5th-8th April 2019. After a very sucessful and enjoyable first year Scott Orwell Wheelers are delighted to have secured places for a boys and a girls team again this year!

This weekend was a big one for the club – the first round of the National Road Series and a selection race for our youths! In between were sandwiched an IVCA race and the final round of the SERC TT Series. Plenty there to keep us busy

There is a grand stretch in the evening and to celebrate it’s Spring Social time!

Despite being only 3 weeks old the Racing Season feels like it is back into full swing already. This weekend we had a quiet Saturday followed by a flurry of results on Sunday – covering everything from Youths, Juniors, Seniors and Vets! G’wan The Orwell

One Venue – 3 stages – Races for all Youth Age Groups. Orwell Youth hosted a unique one day event for youth racers on Saturday May 11th at Corkagh Park in Clondalkin, Dublin. Scott Orwell Wheelers are happy to announce the return of the Monday Night Youth Racing to Corkagh Park for the Summer of 2019.

The Midlands 300 will take place on Sunday the 31st of March and is the second of 3 Audax events which will be hosted by Scott Orwell Wheelers in 2019. This event is a great stepping stone for anyone thinking of trying a longer Audax after a 200km, the experienced or those starting on the road to PBP qualification.

This year we are proud to be associated with the Dundrum Arch Club our chosen charity - This is a social club for people with intellectual disabilities that meets every Wednesday evening in Ballinteer Community School. This Charity is serviced fully by Volunteers with all proceeds going towards benefiti

The Women’s Crit Series hosted by Scott-Orwell Wheelers returns for 2019 and this year we are delighted to have Appleby Jewellers back as the event sponsor. The league welcomes all levels and abilities of women racing from absolute beginners to experienced veterans. The first race of the series will take place on Tuesday 9th April….
