APPLEBY ORWELL WOMEN’S LEAGUE ROUND 1 TT

Round 1 of the Appleby Orwell Women’s League saw blue skies, no wind and an amazing 51 women sign on! This is by far the biggest turn out to the opening round of the league and we cant wait for the next 6 rounds of exciting racing.

As this was the first time we used the new course a new course record has been set tonight by deserving winner Jennifer Bates. With the perfect racing conditions this might well be a record that stands for a while too.

Our sincere thanks to Dave McLoughlin for looking after the timing and results for us. It’s always a wonder how he gets the results done so quickly!

Also thanks to Genevieve McLoughlin who only got home from the Youth tour of Scotland at 3am last night and still managed to make it to run sign on with Lorna Reilly. We couldn’t have run tonights event without their invaluable help.

Finally thanks to all our Marshals, with the course having 2 roundabouts on it we needed more marshals than before and as always there were people willing to put their hands up and help out.
