Bobby Crilly Classic

Final National Graded Road Event of 2025

Yesterday marked the final National Graded Road event of the 2025 season, as Phoenix CC hosted the prestigious Bobby Crilly Classic in Co. Antrim.

The challenging 18.6km circuit featured rolling terrain tackled over several laps, before finishing with a demanding 9km climb to the line.

In the C3 race, Alexander Graham-Smythe continued his promising transition from rowing to cycling, finishing 34th in a large and competitive field in only his second open road race. With this valuable experience under his belt, 2026 promises to be a big year for the talented newcomer.

In the C2 race, Luke Keaney once again demonstrated his attacking spirit. Launching a move on the final kilometre of the climb, he just missed out on a podium spot but claimed an impressive 5th place after a hard-fought battle to the line.

A fitting conclusion to a fantastic season of national-level road racing, with Orwell riders showcasing both promise and strength.
