2026 Orwell Womens League Round 1

The 2026 edition of the Appleby Orwell Women's League is up and running. Thankfully the weather played ball in the end though it was not looking good all day. We had a great turnout with many new faces taking on the challenge of the now famous Pine Forest TT route. A short but mighty test to get the league started. It was also great to see familiar faces coming out to support the league and give the women new to the league and target to aspire to.

This evening's TT was won by Ellen Ni Cleirigh of Longcourt CC and hot on her heels was Jennifer Caverly from the Dublin Bay Cycling Club. Rounding out the podium was new mum Annalise Murphy. Some other rides of note were young Junior Holly McCaffrey taking a fine 5th place.

Many thanks to all our reliable Marshalls that can always be counted on to show up and do a great job to get the timing done and keep everyone safe.

Next Tuesday 21st April see's us in Corkagh Park for the first Crit round at 7pm
