The results are in from the annual hamper race, with Conor Murnane capping a very successful 2014 by bringing home a basket full of fine goods. Freddie Stevens won the Devil race, while Ann Horan topped the costume competition! Full results and report inside!

The club is holding the annual Hamper Race out in Corkagh Park this Sunday 21st, kicking off from 11.00 with fun and games for all the family and every type of rider! Mince pies and mulled wine to follow in Brown’s Barn, more details and a competition if you click through!

At the IVCA prize-giving yesterday, several Orwell members had the pleasure of receiving recognition for their victories throughout the year: Lloyd Berry, Barry Dace, John Dillon, Ciara Kinch and Eddie Lynch. We’ve got a few snaps inside!

As the Winter Spins are bedded in & guests have found their groups, as membership is about to open and as we take a two week break from official club spins, we put together a list of usual queries to answer some of the regular questions that new and old members have. If there is something not answered here please e-mail orwelladmin@gmail.com.

Membership will be opening in the next week or so, as soon as CI open up registrations for 2015. The club operate a separate system from CI, but to prevent confusion, we’ll open it in tandem with CI. Everything is done online, but if you’ve any questions about the club, we’ll be running an information night on November 10th.

With 4 weeks under our belts we wanted to pass on some news and observations.

An important update for non-members, if you’ve been taking part in the Sunday spins regularly.

One set of results which fell through the cracks, but absolutely deserves to be highlighted and showcased are the recent Orwell performances at the Leinster Track Champs. Before heading off to the Worlds, Orla Hendron achieved double silver, but was outdone by Naoise Sheridan who won both silver and gold! Sean Murnane also featured, taking home double bronze! We’re getting close to the 2015 World Track Masters event, so the time is ripe for a trip down memory lane. At the event last year, Orla Hendron claimed another World Championship title to add to her 2010 gold, this time in the 2k Pursuit. She also earned a brace of silver medals from the Scratch and Points events. If you’ve forgotten the buzz at the time, or weren’t in the club, have a quick read below.
