Mahoney Sparkles in Mondello
Catherine Mahoney was only new to racing in 2018 when she signed up for the Orwell Wheelers-Appleby Jewellers Women’s League. She has come a very long way since then and last week took overall victory in the A Race at the new Appleby Women’s Evening Stage Race. Orwell 1000 Audax
The Orwell 1000 will take place on Friday 27th August 2021.
The route will start and finish at Joe Daly Cycles with a start time of 06:00 am though the shop will open from 05:30 am when toilets, changing room and bag storage will be available. Bags may be collected on completion of the route.
The 1,000 km route is based broadly on combining 3 traditional audax routes into a single 1,000 km route. Read on for full details….

Covid 19 Update – Club Training Activities Can Recommence from May 10th.
We welcome the revised government guidelines announced on 29/4//2021 that signal a return to club training activities in the coming weeks. For at least the month of January we are all being asked to play our part in reversing the progress of the Covid pandemic that is impacting each of us and our families at the moment. In support of the national interest Orwell Wheelers is suspending all club training, events, spins and social activities until further notice.

Covid-19: December 18th Update
Restrictions on travel around the country are eased from December 18th with people being allowed to travel outside their county until 6 January. During this period all the above guidelines stand however cycling outside county limits is permitted.

Thanks & Tribute to David Tansey
As many of you will be aware, a momentous event in the history of Dundrum mercantile activity, for Orwell Wheelers and, indeed, for Irish cycling will occur this coming Monday with the retirement of David “The Docket” Tansey from Joe Daly Cycles.
