The TT is over and the results are in! The final round of the Appleby Orwell Women’s League took place on a beautiful night in Glencullen. Caoimhe May (A) and Abby Burke (B) were winners in the TT and overall league winners were Annalise Murphy (A) and Muirna Twomey (B) Read on for full results:

It’s all coming down to the final TT! The last round of the Appleby Orwell Women’s League will take place on Tuesday the 24th of May and it is a return to the TT course in Glencullen. Round 5 of the Appleby Orwell Women’s League was supposed to take place in the glorious sunshine of Mondello……. But May in Ireland had other ideas! Despite our crossed fingers, the putting out of the child of Prague and constant watching of weather apps/rainfall radars luck wasnt with us this time and racing was cancelled on the night. Catherine Mahoney was only new to racing in 2018 when she signed up for the Orwell Wheelers-Appleby Jewellers Women’s League. She has come a very long way since then and last week took overall victory in the A Race at the new Appleby Women’s Evening Stage Race. Club Pro Colm Featherstone and his camera crew visited Corkagh Park on a sunny Tuesday in June to check out the action at a round of the Womens Comisson’s Women’s League.

Scott Orwell Wheeler Caoimhe May set off to Baku to compete in the European Youth Olympics this morning! Caoimhe is part of a 6 person Irish Team and will compete in the Time Trial on Tues 23rd and the Road Race on Thurs 25th of July. We wish Caoimhe and all her team mates the best of luck next week

The Appleby Orwell Women’s League 2019 came to a close tonight with the final TT round. 83 women raced in at least one round of the league! The final round write up will be posted later this week but until then here are the final round TT and the overall league results.

A beautiful, still night out around the lakes of Manor Kilbride/Blessington for round 5 tonight. We had 2 separate races with the A/A+ group starting first and the B/B+ group racing second. Despite the lumpy circuit the groups stayed together for the most part with 2 exciting sprint finishes. Read on for the results and latest standings with 1 round to go….
