Round 1 Well done to all 18 racers that took on not just the Pine Forest TT but also the biblical rain this evening for the kick off of the Women’s Beginner League. There was a nice tail wind but the conditions were testing to say the least! 5 weeks have flown by and the final round of the Appleby Orwell Womens league will take place this coming Tuesday the 23rd of May! We will return to Batterstown for a repeat of the round 1 course which gives everyone a chance to see how much they have improved. Full details and standings going into the final round below….

It’s all coming down to the final TT! The last round of the Appleby Orwell Women’s League will take place on Tuesday the 24th of May and it is a return to the TT course in Glencullen. Round 5 of the Appleby Orwell Women’s League was supposed to take place in the glorious sunshine of Mondello……. But May in Ireland had other ideas! Despite our crossed fingers, the putting out of the child of Prague and constant watching of weather apps/rainfall radars luck wasnt with us this time and racing was cancelled on the night. Catherine Mahoney was only new to racing in 2018 when she signed up for the Orwell Wheelers-Appleby Jewellers Women’s League. She has come a very long way since then and last week took overall victory in the A Race at the new Appleby Women’s Evening Stage Race.
