Next Sunday, the 22nd, Orwell Youths welcome our own Aidan Hammond, who be coming along to give us a training session.

Aidan is a level 3 Cycling Ireland Coach and a coach tutor and has coached riders and clubs of all abilities from youth, leisure, MTB, Track up to International road racers for over 20 years. Aidan is well known to many within the club and the many who avail of his coaching services time and again is testament to the respect in which he is held by our members. He also runs a bike fitting service which comes highly recommended.

Two weeks after that on December 6th Aidan Ryan from Sorrento CC and Cycling Safaris will be the guest coach.

Between 1977 and 1988 Aidan won 7 National Cycling Championships and represented Ireland on a number of occasions. Subsequently Aidan has become a level 3 cycling coach as well as possessing a Physical Education degree. Over the years Aidan has coached many different types of cyclists, ranging from high level competitors in championships to basic beginners, all across a range of cycling disciplines and including both adults and children. Fundamentally Aidan is passionate about cycling and passionate about encouraging others to cycle. With 37 years of experience of cycling and considering different aspects of cycling at so many different levels, he is well placed to help others improve their cycling skills. http://www.stickybottle.com/coaching/coaching-training-recovery-getting-the-balance-right-at-this-crucial-time-of-year/

We hope to see a big turnout from our youth members for these sessions.

Parents’ spin – Stephen Ryan will lead a spin for any parents who would like to get a few kilometres in while the children are at the sessions. Depending on who is there these can be as relaxed or as intense as you like. We will be back at Corkagh c. 11:45.

And the fun keeps on coming – In between the two guest sessions we will be going to the BMX track at Lucan on November 29th. Jen Sheridan will be in touch with parents shortly with more information. If you are not on her text list and would like to be please mail her at genevieve_sheridan@yahoo.com.
