Bray Wheelers are running a Youth Track Camp starting with accreditation this weekend, and running over the mid-term break at the end of October. It’s designed for anyone who hasn’t done the track ever before, so if you’ve thought about it, head along! Details below.
Bray Wheelers are running a Youth Track Camp starting with accreditation this weekend, and running over the mid-term break at the end of October. It’s designed for anyone who hasn’t done the track ever before, so if you’ve thought about it, head along!
This camp is run by Bray Wheelers but is open to youths from other clubs.
Riders will be active each day so please dress appropriately. It will be cold! Helmets and gloves must be worn on the track at all times.
Lunch will not be provided by the club so please bring your own for each day. Please also remember to bring water and stay hydrated.
Day 1: Sunday 11th October
2-4 p.m. This will be an introduction to the track, getting everyone up and running, ready for the accreditation.
During the mid-term break
Day 2: Tuesday 27th October
10 a.m – 1 p.m. The first day of accreditation will involve some basic drills and exercises.
Day 3: Wednesday 28th October
10 a.m – 1 p.m. More drills and work on bike handling skills.
Day 4: Thursday 29th October
10 a.m – 1 p.m. This will be the final day of accreditation. This day will be the most difficult and will put new skills to the test finishing up with some mock racing. (Weather permitting)
Later in the year…
Day 5: Sunday 6th December
2-4 p.m. Full training session.
