Not long to go now… so here is just some last minute information from social rep Ann Horan on the weekend away to Nenagh.

Not long to go now… so here is just some last minute information from social rep Ann Horan on the weekend away to Nenagh.

Please ensure that your bike is in good working order and that you have a helmet, sufficient spare tubes, food supplies, etc. with you. All the usual spin rules and etiquette apply!

Groups

The groups will meet in the car park of the Abbey Court Hotel at 09.50 on Saturday morning.

The groups will be split as per the Sunday spins, so just stick with your usual group.

  • Red group depart at 10.00am

  • Orange group depart at 10.10am

  • Yellow group depart at 10.20am

  • White group depart at 10.30am

Routes

There is a choice of two routes

The 112km scenic tour of Lough Derg:

Suggestions for coffee stops are at 50km and 80km

50km Mountshannon There is a petrol station with benches outside and also The Mountshannon Hotel (no actual cafes here to the best of my knowledge).

80km Portumna Blas and Cafe Rose (two coffee shops side by side on the Main Street).

Or the 46km crocs’ route for those who are carrying injuries or just haven’t been on their bikes in a while:

Take a look at the two routes and decide which one suits you best. Leaders can be appointed on the day for the white group. The yellow, orange and red groups are self guided. Please study the route carefully and upload it on to your Garmin if possible.

Dinner

When you get back from your spin, there is a pool in the hotel so you’ll have a chance to finally show off that six pack you’ve been working on. Don’t forget your swimwear!

Or you could all just head straight to the bar and get a head start on your companions.

Dinner is served at 19.45. Everyone will be seated randomly so you’ve a good chance of making some new friends.

See you all in Nenagh!

Best Wishes Ann Horan (social rep)
