We are very lucky to count Laurence Roche among the membership of Orwell Wheelers, and the former professional has kindly agreed to offer an evening in his company next Monday night, 24th Feb.

Taking place in the Jesuit Conference Centre, Milltown, the evening will take the form of an interview with Laurence by fellow cyclist Paul Tansey.

Brother to Triple Crown winner Stephen Roche, Laurence is one of only eight Irish riders to have competed in the Tour de France. Laurence rode in 1991 for the Tonton Tapis team, eventually finishing 153rd. Previously he had ridden as a professional for Carrera Jeans-Vagabond.

He has represented Ireland in numerous world championships, and also competed in the Rás as recently as 2008. He is still active in the cycling world, running a company specialising in the Bike to Work scheme called BikeIT.

The talk will be starting at 19.30 sharp in the usual venue of the Jesuit Conference Centre, with people taking their seats at 19.15. We hope to see as many of you as possible there!
