Cycling Worlds & ParaCycling World Champs

The Cycling World Championships and the ParaCycling World Championships will be taking place in September – Scott Orwell Wheelers is exceptionally proud to have 3 riders representing Ireland at the highest level this year….

The Cycling World Championships and the ParaCycling World Championships will be taking place in September – Scott Orwell Wheelers is exceptionally proud to have 3 riders representing Ireland at the highest level this year.

World Championships: Yorkshire, 22nd to 29th September

Lara Gillespie will join Maeve Gallagher and Lucy O’Donnell to compete in the Junior Road Race. Lara will be Irelands only entry in the Junior Time Trial.

Paracycling World Championships: Emmen, the Netherlands, September 12 – 15 Ronan Grimes and Paul Forristal have been selected to compete on the Irish Team at the Paracycling Road World Championships.

Ronan Grimes, in the MC4 category, will go into the championships with hopes of claiming another world medal. Grimes won silver at the Track World Championships back in March and last week won the bronze medal at the Canadian World Cup.

Paul Forristal is in his first season on the tandem as the pilot for Damien Vereker but has already competed at World Cup level in Canada where the pairing finished 8th in the TT and in the Road Race on a very technical course.
