Coombes Connor 2025 Report
The Coombes Connor 2025, hosted by Drogheda Wheelers, saw a massive entry in the C3 race, with over 120 riders lining up. Orwell Wheelers were well represented in their new kit, with over eight riders taking to the start.
Matt Lynch, following a strong performance at the Lucan GP, was looking to secure some points and put in a solid ride, gaining more valuable experience in the bunch. Jonathan O’Brien continued his preparations for the Vet Season opener this weekend, putting in a strong effort. Josh Francis maintained his impressive early-season form, pushing at the front of the C3 group alongside Stephan O’Shea. Barry Fennell, Martyn Holmes, and Paul O’Brien all battled through the punchy course, which featured an average speed of 40 km/h.
In the C2 grade, Ronan O’Flynn added to his points tally with a 5th-place finish, continuing his consistent run of results. However, the standout performance of the weekend came from Matthew Lane, who finished as the first unplaced junior, marking a great milestone in his development.
Next week, the club will head south for the Des Hanlon Memorial (Carlow RCC), where another exciting weekend of racing awaits!
