What a week for racing that was! The Club Championships including guest appearances by horses and tractors, Conor making the podium up North with a fractured wrist, Diarmuid coming into form right on time for a Championships, Breda just missing out on a podium and our youths racing at home and abroad! Gaelforce West is a race that most people have heard about, and represents the “Old Lady” of Adventure Racing in Ireland. It’s a 6 Stage Point-To-Point race starting in the stunning Killary Fjord in Galway. This year Luke McMullan took on the challenge and came away smiling! It’s been a busy start to the season for our track cyclists! The Spring league came to an end this week with the prize giving and on Saturday all eyes were on the track for the National Omnium Championships where our own Valdis Andersons came home with a shiny silver medal! Thanks to Valdis for taking the time to put this report together for us….

The Joe Daly Memorial Charity Cycle Rally 2018 will take place on Sunday June 24th at 10:00am. Starting at Simpson’s Hospital the route takes us out to Enniskerry and back. All proceeds are in aid of Simpson’s Hospital, Dundrum

As part of our 70th Anniversary year, we’re promoting a screening on July 4th of All for One, a documentary about the Scott-sponsored Australian Orica-GreenEdge pro cycling team.

Another busy week as the racing season keeps ramping up! The only group not racing this weekend were the IVCA as they were busy with the Wicklow 200. This week the round up takes us from Newbridge to Roscommon, Dorey’s Forge to Roundwood with a stop off in Corkagh Park to check in on the youths…

Congratulations to Conn McDunphy of Holdsworth Racing for the overall win at a very sunny Hammond Memorial TT this morning. Our own Dmitri Griffin was top Junior and walked away with the Kieran Hammond Memorial trophy. Winners’ list below – Full times to follow

The Noel O’Neill Trophy was run as a one day event in The Phoenix Park in 2017. For 2018 the event developed into a 2 day, 3 stage event which attracted some of the best racers in the country. Exciting racing in a new format, ended in a great victory for Scott Orwell Wheelers when Noel O’Neill presented the trophy to our own Paul Forristal. This is how it all unfolded..
