2023 Stephen Roche GP Results

Updated: Jan 8

Congratulations to all our youth winners, and Orla Walsh (UCD) and Conn McDunphy (Lucan) in the senior events. Full results inside.

A huge thank you to all of the marshals who helped out tonight and made everything run like clockwork. It’s a huge undertaking for a club of any size to run an event like the Stephen Roche GP, and it wouldn’t be possible without the 50 or so club members who helped out in some way or other.

Special mention to Dave Hendron and Stephen O’Shea who have put days or weeks of work in to do all of the organisation that allows the rest of us to show up on the evening to do our few hours of marshalling. Thanks to Denis Gleeson, David Tansey, Jen McLoughlin Sheridan, Terry Ferris, Declan Quigley, Ivan O’Brien, Ronnie Brannigan, Donal O’Connor, Neal Hudson, Lorna O’Reilly, Dave Mc and Uisneach Sheridan. Also all our club mates who came to marshal, help, drive, point and cheer – thank you all very, very much!

Thanks also to the local Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown county council and the Gardaí for accommodating and assisting in the running of the event.

Apart from being a lot of work, an event like this costs lots of money, so thanks are also due to all of the sponsors who make it viable – Pinergy, Johnson Perrot and the ever-present Joe Dalys.

Finally thanks are due to the Roche family and the residents of Meadowmount for welcoming us in and facilitating us for another year, and Stephen O’Shea would give a special mention to his own family for all their support.

Next year Damien Long will take over the reins as race director, best of luck filling those shoes!
