Simpson’s Hospital Charity Cycle

The annual Joe Daly memorial cycle in aid of Simpson’s hospital will be taking place in a couple of weeks, on Sunday the 23rd. Details after the jump!

The annual Joe Daly memorial cycle in aid of Simpson’s hospital will be taking place in a couple of weeks, on Sunday the 23rd.

It starts at 10:00am from the grounds of the Simpson’s Hospital. From there, we will roll out to Enniskerry, where there’ll be a refreshment stop, before doing an about turn and heading home again.

Simpson’s Hospital has been caring for older persons in a homely, relaxed and friendly atmosphere since 1779, and the annual cycle raises much-needed funds. Entry fee is €10 for adults, €5 for Under 14s, and there will be a raffle at the finish for all participants.

It’s only a 25km total distance, and with the halfway stop, is ideal for occasional cyclists and families. Orwell members are encouraged to come along and act as rolling marshalls.

Marshall Requests

We need marshalls for the Roche GP on Wed 26th – please sign your name in the forum if you can help.

We will also need marshalls for the Hammond Memorials on July 14th, keep an eye on the forum for the future request!

Club Champs

We’ve designated R15 of the club league on July 18th as the Club Champs. The winner of this event can call themselves the 2013 Club Champion. The route has yet to be decided, but will be based in or around the Brittas and Blessington area.
