Hi all,

Firstly I would like to thank all who helped in making the recent events (Noel and Kieran Hammond Memorial races, Stephen Roche Grand Prix and The Joe Daly Memorial/ Simpsons Hospital Charity Cycle) a success. Not only are these events important for the development of the sport in general but they are also very social events so hopefully those who organised enjoyed the experience as much as those who took part.

Secondly, I was chatting to Stephen Roche after the Grand Prix and he asked me to pass on his thanks to the club for continuing to put on a race in his name. He was particularly delighted to see so many youngsters taking part. Stephen has asked me to ask you all to support the Leinster Loop cycle as it is a great day out and for a very worthy Cancer Research Charity. There is the kids and family ride on Saturday 16th August and the main event on Sunday 17th.

Also he would be delighted to see Orwell Members joining his cycling holidays in Mallorca. February is a perfect time to set yourself up for a good Sportif/Racing season and Stephen has assured there will be a special welcome for Orwell Members. We might try organise a particular week for the club to go as a group next year.
