Orwell Riders to the Fore at IVCA 10 Mile TT Championships

Orwell Wheeler's riders delivered a series of standout performances at the IVCA 10 Mile Time Trial Championships in Moyvalley, Co. Kildare on Saturday 31st May, competing in tough conditions against a strong national field.

At the head of the race, Brian McNally took a commanding overall victory with a superb time of 21:53, setting the benchmark for the day ahead of Mark Kidd (22:05) and Paul Coffey (22:10).

Just behind the podium, Orwell’s Cesar Lopes produced an excellent ride to take 4th place overall with a time of 22:21. Lopes’ performance placed him firmly among the elite riders on the day, underlining his continued strength in the TT discipline.

John Kehoe also delivered a strong and consistent ride, finishing 6th overall in 22:29. In a tightly packed top ten, Kehoe’s ride demonstrated his ability to hold pace on a demanding course where every second counted.

On the road bike side, Ian Devlin put in one of the rides of the day, finishing 7th overall with a time of 24:03 to claim the title of fastest road bike rider. Devlin’s performance was particularly notable given the equipment difference, highlighting both his power and pacing.

In the women’s event, Sinead O’Connor was the fastest on the day, clocking an impressive 26:00. Emily-Ann Doyle took 2nd place with 27:31, while Orla Hendron secured 3rd place with a strong ride of 27:35.

Elsewhere in the field, riders faced mixed and challenging conditions which added to the difficulty of the Moyvalley course, but still produced a high standard of racing throughout the results.

The event once again showcased the strength of IVCA competition and the consistent presence of Orwell Wheelers riders at the sharp end across both TT and road bike categories.
