IVCA Race Report – Kilcullen, 12th July

The IVCA returned to Kilcullen on Saturday, 12th July, where 138 riders lined up under glorious sunshine for what could only be described as Tour de France conditions. Blue skies, warm temperatures and fast racing made for a spectacular day's cycling, with Orwell Wheeler's riders featuring prominently across the groups.

The Green Group once again saw Terry Ferries continue his remarkable run of form. Terry is proving almost unstoppable this season, taking another impressive victory with a trademark strong finish. Terry Ryan also put in a solid ride, sprinting home to claim 9th place.

In the Black Group, John Anslow delivered another excellent performance to take 2nd place after a hard-fought race. Paul Tansey also rode strongly to secure another top-ten finish, continuing Orwell's consistent presence at the sharp end of the field.

The Orange Group produced more encouraging results for the club. Harry Rochford clearly enjoyed his new bike, powering to an excellent 7th place, while Alan O'Dowell rounded out the top ten with a strong ride to finish 10th.

The racing was equally competitive in the remaining groups. Neal Hudson continued his outstanding season with another impressive 4th-place finish, while Diarmuid Collins was right in the mix, taking 7th after a closely contested bunch sprint.
