2026 September Pathways

Pathways 2026 welcomes more than 80 new members
Pinergy Orwell Leisure cycling is essentially group cycling. Pathways is process by which the club welcomes new members “in a safe and orderly” manner. It focuses on group riding skills.
As you might expect, we get applicants with a range of skills and experience. For safety, we use a questionnaire to facilitate the segregation of riders into groups of similar ability, weeks before they arrive at our sessions in Corkage park.
Every Pathways event starts with a mandatory safety briefing, followed by instruction, demonstration and practice, and is delivered by professional C.I. coaches, assisted experienced club members.
As you can see from the photographs and videos, we cover cycling in pairs, cornering, hand signals, up-and-overs, safety calls, hand-on-shoulder looking back and indeed all the skills needed to cycle safely in a group. Some of the exercises are performed on foot before being carried out on the bike.
While safety is at the core of every element of Pathways, we try to deliver it an inclusive, fun and light-hearted way. Pathways is run over two, or sometimes three weekends.
