Orwell Wheelers is proud to be the host club for the 2017 Irish National Youth CycloCross Championships, on Sunday 19th Feb 2017.

Orwell Wheelers is proud to be the host club for the 2017 Irish National Youth CycloCross Championships.
The Under-16 Boys, Under-16 Girls, Under-14 Boys and Under-14 Girls races are championship events. With medals and National Champions’ Jerseys.
The Under-10 and Under-12 race will not be a championship event, it will be a support race.
There will also be an Under-6 and Under-8 Strider race.
There will be a limited number of CycloCross bikes available for racing. These will be free of charge. They will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
As with other Youth CycloCoss Events, we ask Parents to bring smiles and to be supportive of all riders.

Opening Date: Tuesday 7th of February 2017 at 4pm
Closing Date: Friday 17th of February 2017 at 4pm
Entry Fee: €5 / £5 per child
The Under-10 and Under-12 Races can be entered on the day, the Fee is €5 / £5 per child.
Event Particulars:
Date: Sunday 19th of February 2017
Time: Course open at 11:30, racing begins at 12:30. Each race will be around the 30 minute mark.
Location: Corkagh Park Cycle Racing Track, Dublin.

Technical Guide

The technical guide states that there is a Team Prize in each race, if the requirements are met. The minimum requirements for a Team Prize are; there must be three teams with three riders. Medals will only be awarded to the winning team.
There must be at least six riders in a race for it to be counted as a Championship Event.
Under-14 riders are those with a birth year in 2003 or 2004. Under-16 riders are those with a birth year in 2001 or 2002.
Riders are required to have a Cycling Ireland license for 2017. The license’s UCI code must begin with “IRL”.
Official team kit, or plain kit, must be worn in the championship event.
