Katie Turner

Katie is a second year student at Mount Anville Secondary School where she pursues a range of subjects and extracurricular activities. Her favourite subjects include History, Geography, Science and English. She also enjoys Basketball, Cross Country Running and Hockey. She has two siblings, 10 year old twins, who are also avid cyclists.

In the winter months Katie is to be found on the CX courses around Ireland sloshing through the mud in CX races around the country and beyond. She spends her summer on the road and with a preference for the fast pace chaos of the Belgium omloops.

In just her first year of U17 Katie already has a wealth of experience behind her. Over the past few years Katie has raced across Ireland, Britain, Spain, Belgium, Netherlands and Denmark against some of the top youth riders in the world.

The highlight of Katies racing to date has to be racing in fields of 120 riders in this years Gent Wevelgem and Ronde van Vlaanderen. These prestigious events attract the best youth riders across the globe with riders coming from Australia, Belgium, France, Great Britain, Netherlands, Luxembourg and of course Ireland.

In 2025 as a first year u17 Katie placed a very respectable 11th and 7th respectively which will give her confidence for the races ahead.

So what’s next for Katie in 2025?

Katie is very excited for the year ahead which will see her based in Belgium and the Netherlands racing every week against the both junior and u17 riders. She hopes to be part of the Cycling Ireland / Team Ireland selection for this years European Youth Olympics Festival to be held in July in Skopje, Macedonia.
