Audax
39 club members signed up for the Dublin, Meath, Kildare 200km Audax which started in Dundrum at 7am on 9th March. Many thanks to Dave Mc and Joe Daly Cycles for opening the shop for registration, start and finish of this event. The first control on this route is early, at 22km, at everyone was through this point by 8am.
From Leixlip its a straightforward 73km to Kilbeggan. The sun came out with the result that many riders were removing layers if they stopped for coffee at Enfield.
The deli staff at Inver/Mace in Kilbeggan put in a tough shift to get people fed for the next 50km to Monasterevin.
Most just took a quick coffee stop here, then its across the Curragh, past Punchestown, Windmill hill and a bit of a climb from Saggart to the Embankment.
After that its pretty much downhill back to Dundrum , making it 208km for the day. Everyone was back and signed off well inside the cutoff time
